"DATAStream is the brainchild of Martyn Stonehouse, a composer and sound designer. The company was set up in 1986 in Derbyshire (UK) following research by Martyn into audio manipulation technology and portal transfer systems. They had some early success developing new audio formats (such as the ‘CompuSTORE’) that were far more advanced than the compact discs and tape based systems of the age although most were deemed too unstable for domestic use"

In real life - Martyn Stonehouse started DATAStream in 2014 to indulge his passion for late 80s and early 90s digital synthesisers and production techniques. He also creates retrospective electronic music under his 'Pinemarten' alias and works as a freelance composer, sound designer and producer.
