Cue To Eclipse

Cue To Eclipse are a Progressive Post-Hardcore band from the South of England. Originally formed in 2006 by Luke B and Dave under the name Fairvail, they released their first EP and gained a growing reputation as a band to see in the local area. Known for their hugely energetic live performances, "These guys seem to have more energy on stage than a nuclear power plant, I get tired just watching them!" (Nerve Magazine - 2007).

After a change of vocalists, they changed their name to Cue To Eclipse and began to write new material with a slightly more metal influenced direction. These sessions lead to the recording of the EP "Chapter II" with Peter Miles (Martin Grech, Failsafe, Your Demise), which was released in July 2007. In support of this, there was a mini tour, with the response to the new music bringing higher level support slots, including InMe, Fei Comodo and Bury Tomorrow.

Unfortunately, shortly after, they lost their second vocalist. Although completely amicable, once again they found themselves unable to perform, and so began the search for a new voice. It wasn't long before they found their man and Tom was enlisted on vocals. As with the previous member changes, they scrapped all the old material and began to write new songs with yet again another advancement in their sound. Deciding that they had grown tired of the screaming that seemed to populate a lot of the local music scene at the time, they made the most of Tom's incredible vocal range and power to focus on good melodies and catchy choruses while maintaining their take on the post-hardcore/metal sound musically. Copious local gigs followed, including support slots with Exit Ten, Deaf Havana and Young Guns. Once again building their reputation as a band who's live performances had to be seen to be believed.

The band eventually recorded their new material with Dan Lancaster of Proceed at his GlassEye studio in March of 2010. This was their most professional sounding material to date, it was also easily their best material. They had found their sound and were 100% happy. But before they had chance to release this new music, Tom had to leave the band. Again, this was not a fall out, but personal reasons meant he was needed elsewhere. After some time, the band decided to release the untitled EP (Shadows/Bench Ethics) as a free download available online. There was talk of finding someone to fill the space left by Tom, but nothing seemed to come of this….the band went quiet.

Over the years there have been several hints of a return with various line-up changes, the constants being Luke B, Dave and Jonny holding the fort and trying to fill in the gaps. At this point who really knows what will happen in the future, but never say never...

The line up at the time of the last recording was:
Tom Watson - Vocals
Luke Biggin - Guitar
Jonny Wells - Guitar
Dave Wood - Bass
Luke Downs - Drums
