Artist Detailed Info: Comora

Comora band is known to be the first pure Mizo Heavy Metal Band started at Aizawl in the year 2003. The initial founder and surety of the band were Lalrinawma(Sena) (RIP) - Drums, Zosanga Vanchhawng(Mimia) - Guitar/Vocal and Lalnunzira(Zira) - Bass. Together, three of them performed several shows around Mizoram. They contested at Lunglei,beat contest organised by Art and Culture Department of Mizoram. At this time, their Bassist even held a best bassist award among the contestants. During this time, their present vocalist Awitea Buongpui was in a band named Stranger, was fully interested to be a member of their band as he was fully attracted in their music genre called Heavy/Trash Metal.
After one year, the three memebers of Comora and Awitea Buongpui finally met and decided to formed a formal first ever Mizo Heavy Metal/Thrash band in Mizoram.
In 2004 the complete members with their Mizo original songs contested in 1st Albatross Amateur Beat Contest held at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl and won the first position and became surprisingly famous around Aizawl, with their new single "Thlawkbo rawh".



In 2006 Comora released their 1st single album with pure Mizo lyrics (ZOFATE).
After these album released, the band had a paused for around 5 years.
With new hopes and great expectation the band tried to re-unite and fulfilled new projects, but unfotunately In 2010, on 24th December, Sena (drummer) died in an accident. The band could'nt able to move on for further projects without a drummer.
Comora was searching new drummer from different corners, but in vain...
And then finally they met the right person who can fulfill the needs and the beats for their music in September 2012, named Rindika, from Chanmari, Aizawl to continue their belonging journey to the Mizo Heavy Metal world, and to fulfill the young rock musicians dreams.
Now with a new drummer, Comora is now ready to hear and tear and ROCK the heart of Mizo Heavy Metal World.
