CMAR (pronounced SEE-mar), born August 20, 2002, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. His connection to music began in the 5th grade, when CMAR joined his school's band, whom he played with for eight years until he graduated high school.

In early 2018, in the middle of his sophomore year of high school, CMAR began producing trap beats and writing raps on his younger brother's iPad. What began as a joke with his friends soon turned to a passion, as CMAR would begin uploading his fully self-produced, self-written, and self-recorded songs to SoundCloud under the name cmarmar. He would continue this hobby and even encouraged two of his closest friends to join him and begin creating music.

CMAR began college at the University of New Haven in 2020. As his grades began to fall, his friends disappeared, and his love interest took advantage of him, CMAR soon fell into a clinical depression. Music was his one escape. Listening to a diverse group of artists such as Billie Eilish, City Morgue, Slipknot, and Playboi Carti helped guide him through his struggles and inspired him in his own music.

In early 2022, he was dismissed from his university and began working two jobs. That summer, he bought his first legit recording equipment and began recording in the back seat of his car in empty parking lots. He cleared his SoundCloud profile and shortened his name to CMAR, and began uploading new songs once again. After two years of work, CMAR released his debut project, "Inside The Mind", on SoundCloud at the end of 2023. The project showcases CMAR's ability to craft intricate rhyme schemes while telling real, introspective lyrics across a range of vocal styles: melodic, rapped, and screamed. The heavy, new-gen "rage" beats fit CMAR into the crowd of upcoming underground artists, but his stylistic versatility and lyricism just might be what sets him apart from the rest.
