For Chyron, the 18-year old Virginian Emcee, music is nothing new. Being the son of a Pastor, Chyron developed an ear for uplifting music and wisdom at an early age. Learning to play drums and piano for his father’s Church, his musical aptitude was combined with sheer interest and enjoyment. Chyron’s parents, two natives of Ghana, pushed him to further his musical range. In high school, he developed a distinct singing voice that separated him from the average male vocalist. At the same time, it was impossible for the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Wale, and several others to go unnoticed by young, experimenting Chyron. It was at this point, at the age of 15, that he began recording his first Hip-Hop compositions. Incorporating the urban music of his hometown, Washington DC, with what he learned as he was young, Chyron’s sound became unique. Through the remainder of high school, Chyron pursued the Hip-Hop lifestyle and developed an even deeper understanding for it. By the end of his senior year, Chyron’s ability to rap, sing, and produce all of his music was an invaluable trait and a definite indication of his musical genius.
Coming to the city of Pittsburgh, there were two things that dominated the plans of 18-year old Chyron: school and music. Balancing these two priorities would prove to be no challenge for the young artist. Through the span of his freshman year in college, Chyron opened for major name acts like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony & Wu-Tang Clan, and also performing at his own shows around the city of Pittsburgh. It was also during his freshman year that he released his first distributed mixtape, The Chyronicles: Visions From Space, which saw a huge spike in his fan base. All the while, Chyron excelled in his classes. Now considered a prospect to blow up, the skill and hard work is paying off. However, with bigger dreams of stardom, Chyron plans on outdoing himself year after year. With that said, there are big plans for 2011.
