Chogly is from the Djanet (Arabic: جانيت‎) Region of southeast Algeria. This region is mostly populated by the Kel Ajjer (Kel Azjar) Tuareg people. Chogly is considered one of the greatest living oud players, after Baly Othmani, his master.
