2) Zjèr Bataille, real name Ger Bertholet (born 1948 in Klimmen, Netherlands), was originally a house painter. He later became a full-time representative for the KWJ (Catholic Working Youth). From that position, he founded the cabaret group De Sjenge in the 1970s.At the end of the 1970s, he began studying at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Maastricht, graduating as a drama teacher. Bertholet wrote several plays, including works for children. Under the pseudonym G. Rapaille, he wrote Knötsj. A Zeelandic version of this theatrical monologue (titled Kwarre, translated by Jan Zwemer) was performed in dozens of local pubs across Zeeland. Many of his poems have been published in the dialect magazine Veldeke.Bertholet currently lives in Sittard and works for the regional broadcaster L1. He previously hosted the show Ut verdreet van Limburg and now serves as a columnist for L1 Cultuurcafé.He still performs as a singer, primarily under the name (Zjèr) Bataile. In May 2006, his song d'r Man reached fifth place in the L1-Limbo Top 10 chart, and in December 2006, Tatakka reached second place.In 2009, he compiled an anthology of songs by Herman Veugelers. Following the release of the book, he organized the Petit Bataille event.
