Balance Breach is a metalcore band from Mikkeli, Finland, formed in 2015. The band consists of Aleksi Paasonen on vocals, Terho Korhonen and Saku Heimonen on guitars, Joni Härkönen on bass, and Antti Halonen on drums. Initially, these musicians had formed the band under a different name with a different vocalist during their school years. However, with the recruitment of Paasonen in 2015, the group decided to relaunch the project under the name Balance Breach. This new lineup marked a shift in the band's identity and sound, leaning towards a blend of metalcore with influences from melodic metal, djent, and hardcore.

Balance Breach's debut release was an independently produced EP titled Incarceration, which was released in November 2015. This EP established the band’s modern sound and set the foundation for their future in the Finnish metal scene. Following the release of Incarceration, the band actively performed across Finland, gaining traction and recognition. By August 2017, they had released their first single, Babylon, accompanied by their first music video. Their following single, Memento, released in March 2018, touched on themes related to memory loss, showcasing the band’s growing lyrical depth.

After winning the Tuska festival competition and performing at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in summer 2019, the band has been under contract with the German label Out of Line Music since January 2020.

In July 2020, Balance Breach released their debut full-length album Dead End Diaries through Out of Line Music. The lyrics of Dead End Diaries largely drew from the members' personal experiences, presenting themes of emotional struggle and introspection. The album was well-received, and its release solidified the band’s presence in the European metalcore scene.

In 2023, Balance Breach released their second full-length album, Abyzmal. The band has played determinedly around Finland, performing at essential venues and supporting bands such as Normandie, Lost Society, and Bloodred Hourglass. In March 2024, Balance Breach toured Central Europe as a special guest with Bloodred Hourglass. Before their first tour outside Finland, Balance Breach had a few shows in Germany, supporting WARGASM (UK) in a club show, playing at the Summer Breeze Open Air Festival, and participating in the indoor festival Mosh City Berlin. In Spring 2023, the band visited England for the first time, performing at the Takedown Festival, headlined by Sleep Token and Loathe.
