Aspex embodies hip-hop effortlessly.
Lyrics display a combination of potent content and skilfully delivered flows ‘Imbued with an urban grittiness distinctively East London’ - East London Advertiser
Current EP ‘No Added Sugar 2’ (Released 1/8/13) shows Pex’s ability to create songs with depth, and still remain versatile across a broad range of genres. In an industry over saturated with rappers talking about swag, money, drugs and ‘hoes’, Pex takes a different route.
Whilst more than qualified on making club bangers that have people getting down on the dance floors, Pex also delivers thought provoking songs tackling a wide range of issues with an undeniable positive message.
Raised on the council estates of East London, Pex is familiar with the darker elements of our society rarely spoken about. Being diagnosed with diabetes at age 16 transformed Aspex into an artist that overcomes obstacles rather than focusing on the hardships. A self-confessed geek motivated to mastering his craft, Aspex is at home in the studio. No stranger to hard work, Pex releases his music independently on his own record label and has been since 2006.
He has been featured on SBTV, BBC and MTV, had nationwide video coverage and performed a string of high calibre shows. Aspex is not just an emcee but an artist with longevity.
