"Interpreting the compositions of Jorge Ben and Caetano Veloso as well as her own, 27-year-old actress and singer-songwriter Andrea Marquee is the cool voice of young Brazil. Emerging from a background of alternative theatre, underground cinema and after-hours clubs, she is one of the young Brazilian artists and scene-makers who are revitalizing música popular Brasileira (MPB) with a head-spinning, body-rocking mix of samba, tropicália, acid jazz and electronic dance music."

Her first cd is called "Zumbi", and it was launched by ybmusic in 2000.
