The goal of his music is simple: He wants to write a song that makes you feel like it could be the last track you ever hear. Did he succeed? Only you know for sure.

His influences include Sufjan Stevens, Regina Spektor, John Mayer, and Kimya Dawson. He also draws heavily from the music of crooners from the early 20th century: Bing & Bob Crosby, Cole Porter, and Al Jolson.

His first album, Floating Wilderness, is pop with a rock influence at it’s core, but if you listen close, you’ll also hear some blue-eyed soul (a-la Jason Mraz/John Mayer) as well as ragtime.

The music on Wilderness tries to find a common ground between his influences while adding a modern rock-infused twist. He does this through a mix of instruments including: vocals, guitar, upright bass, piano, ukulele, electric guitar, shakuhachi, horns, cello, and several others.

Some of his songs sound like they are ripped out of the 40s, others sound like they are from the future, but they all have a common style and a common goal: to take your socks off.
