Akwid is a Mexican-American Hip Hop group, combining hip hop-style vocals with regional Mexican music. An earlier incarnation of the group was known as Juvenile Style. Rappers Sergio "Wikid" Gómez and Francisco "AK" Gómez, who make up Akwid, are two brothers originally from Jiquilpan, Michoacán, who live in Los Angeles, California.

Akwid is very similar to Kinto Sol, El Chivo, Dyablo, Crooked Stilo, Jae-P, David Rolas, Flakiss, La Sinfonia, Gramatiko, Locura Terminal, Kartel De Las Calles,(KDC), Azteka, Mexiclan, Chuy Jr., Jessie Morales El Original De La Sierra, Yolanda Perez, Don Cheto and many more as well Chicano rappers like Kid Frost, Lil Rob, Mr. Criminal, Mr. Capone-E, Lil Cuete, Mr. Sancho, Lil Menace, Mr. Lil One, Califa Thugs, Knightowl, Mr. Shadow, Lil Blacky, Clika One, Proper Dos, Lil Bandit, Conejo and Brownside and Mexican Rappers like Control Machete, Cartel De Santa, Dharius, C-Kan, MC Davo, Gera MX, Santa Fe Klan, Lefty SM and La Santa Grifa

Akwid were associated with Gangs in Los Angeles and other parts in California mainly southern California and Central Valley California but Mostly Black and Hispanic Like Bloods, Crips, Sureños, 18th Street Gang, Barrio Maravilla, Mara Salvatrucha (MS13) and more and as well white and Asian as well back in the 1990s before they’re famous.
