What is aFishNamedMo?

aFishNamedMo is an extraordinary name for an extraordinary band! Influenced by all kinds of music, everything is allowed, as long as it's fun – which means that any rules and borders are constantly ignored. Who thinks the results are undefined and not within reach, is wrong. It's the opposite: aFishNamedMo have found their own sound, which also has a name: progressive
JazzFunk!
Ambitious instrumental sections meet catchy vocal lines, complexity meets simplicity. Intricate but not overly intellectual – music is made for the soul!
Beware – this is nothing for dreary ears - so hands off if you don't want to experience something new! All others will dive into an exciting world with a lot to discover!


Who is aFishNamedMo?

aFishNamedMo was formed in 2004 by four musicians from south-west Germany, who thought normal music was too normal. With the aim of taking themselves to their own limits, saxophonist Feel-X, bassist MacVie, keyboardist Steffen Schlösser and drummer Danny G. wrote their own songs and played a few gigs. By fortunate coincidence, MacVie met female singer Lena Scheel only half a year later, and a band somewhere between instumental and vocal music arose.
The success of this constellation was outstanding! aFishNamedMo quickly played nationwide gigs also including unusual venues and festivals for a jazz band. At the German competition "Jugend Jazzt" the newcomers won the first prize, which finally established them as successful wanderers between two worlds. Shortly after, their first CD "New Shoes" was produced and released.
In 2008, the band took a break in consequence of personal rearrangement, Lena and Steffen left the band.

After about one and a half year of stage abstinence it became clear that the music world needed more of aFishNamedMo! This is why new songs were written and unique female singer MC Hammer and unbelievable keyboardist Flo Stone were added to the band lineup to rock the stage again!
