Zurich, Switzerland’s Disco Doom formed in 1996 with the core duo of guitarist/vocalist Gabriele De Mario and guitarist Anita Rufer. With a rotating cast of drummers (amongst others Reto Vogler, Tom Peter, Martin Fischer, Dani Hobi, Jason Albertini) and longtime member Daniel Nievergelt (bass/keys) the band crafted songs that updated the classic ‘90s indie rock of Superchunk and Pavement.
