Virgin Forest formed in Brooklyn as a group of musicians who had already spent years playing together in other projects before deciding to record under a shared name. The band was founded by Scott Stapleton, a multi‑instrumentalist known for his work with Castanets and later as a longtime member of Phosphorescent’s touring lineup.
