Born in Dumfries, south west Scotland, Synonym is the electronic alias of music producer Allan Swan. Having started producing electronic music at the age of 16, Synonym came to be in 1999, but none of the materail saw any kind of release until 2004. Recently, the entire Synonym catalogue, consisting of 8 albums and several EPs, was made available to download for free from a new music distribution site, www.ineedmusik.com.
