Silvertide was formed in January 2001 in Northeast Philadelphia. At first, Silvertide (which was originally called Vertigo) had four members: lead singer Walt Lafty, lead guitarist Nick Perri, rhythm guitarist Mark Melchiorre, and drummer Kevin Frank .
