Akin to some Emmanuelle Parrenin's works, this is a pretty unique attempt to combine mediterranean folk with droney experimental music. "La Douceur d'un Son Nouvel" starts in a charming, inoffensive way with a beautiful straightahead a-capella song, but then moves on to much darker realms with all kinds of percussions, bleeps and even some weird field recordings accentuating the sombre, sorta continental dark-folk atmosphere. Sonorhc could be a nice reference point too. Mesmerizing stuff, and highly recommended!
