Qango was founded in 1999 after a proposed Asia reunion fell apart and John Wetton (ex Asia, King Crimson, UK, Roxy Music) and Carl Palmer (ex Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Asia) got together to play a set with some Asia and Emerson Lake and Palmer classics. The two were joined by John Young on keys (who had previously played in the John Wetton Band along with working with Scorpions, Greenslade and Fish) and Dave Kilminster on guitar, another John Wetton Band veteran.
