Planant was formed in Natal, Brazil, in February 2009 by three veterans from the local rock venues: Cris Botarelli (ex-Eletrobilhar), Fausto Luiz (ex-Barbiekill and ex-Bandini), Lauro Kirsch (ex-Claudia's Parachute, ex-Dragsters, and ex-Venice Under Water) and the newcomer on stage, Rodrigo Takeya.
