Pitou is Dutch songstress Pitou Nicolaes (born 1993 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands).

Her recordings are characterised by her highly distinctive voice, unique compositions and the use of vocal harmonies as an instrument in themselves. Her distinctive 'folk noir', with classical influences, has been compared to the likes of Vashti Bunyan, Joanna Newsom, Laura Marling and Alela Diane.
