
Pathanay Khan (real name: Ghulam Muhammad; 1926 - 2000) was a great folk Seraiki singer from Pakistan. His singing style was mostly Kafi or Ghazal, and were largely based on the Sufi poetry of Khwaja Ghulam Farid (the saint of Bahawalpur) and Shah Hussain.
He was born in 1926 at a Village called 'Basti Tambu wali', in middle of "Thal" desert, near "Kot Addu in "Muzaffargarh". He was taught by Baba Mir Khan. On March 9, 2000 Pathanay Khan died at the age of 79 in his native town of Kot Addu (Muzaffargarh district) after a protracted illness. [read more...]
