OJKOS (The Orchestra for Jazz Composers in Oslo) is a contemporary jazz orchestra and creative collective featuring the next generation of innovative musical voices from the Oslo area. Established in 2018, the ensemble takes its name from the ancient Greek word oikos (οἶκος), meaning household, hearth, family . Living up to its name, OJKOS functions as an open, collaborative ecosystem where young musicians and composers experiment freely, shape a collective vocabulary, and push the boundaries of modern improvised music.
