MAYABAYU is a solo artist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

She grew up in the coastal state of Sabah, developing an early passion for songwriting and penning her first song at the age of eleven.

Maya has gathered various acclaim for her work, including the Global VIMA Award for Overall Best Female Artiste as well as becoming the sole female finalist in Malaysia's inaugural Levi's Music Project.

After dabbling in the folk-songwriter genre, Maya has found a home in the unique blend of synth-pop and East Malaysian tribal elements. [read more...]
