Artist Info: Mawaran

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Mawaran began playing classical piano and singing the Maronite repertoire around the age of five. At fifteen, he entered the Beirut National Higher Conservatory of Music, where he studied Lebanese-Egyptian classical singing and the Middle Eastern Arab-Andalusian tradition. Simultaneously, he pursued classical Arabic singing with the Oriental musicologist Fouad Awad, former director of the USEK Lebanon Conservatory of Music. [read more...]
