Licaoni was formed in 2001 when Federico Camboni (bass), Dario Di Gennaro (keyboards), Luigi Germani (guitar), Ivan Lupelli (bass) and Luca Pacioni (drums) finally formed a fixed line-up after a number of previous musical experiences together. They were later joined, in 2004, by Lorenzo Mandelli (sax).
