Artist Info: Jo Freya

Jo Freya (born Jo Fraser on 4 December 1960) is an English folk singer, multi-instrumentalist (soprano and tenor sax, clarinets, traditional whistles), and composer. She was Artistic Director of the Nation Youth Folk Ensemble from 2023 to 2026.

Fraser changed her name to Jo Freya as a condition of joining the actors' union Equity, which does not allow two of its members to share the same name. She performs mainly folk music and world music and is part of the bands Blowzabella [read more...]
