Artist Info: Jay Scholar

Jay Scholar was born February 18, 1991 in Jacksonville, Florida. At the age of 7, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Growing up, Jay Scholar was referred to as a "nerd" because he attended a private school. Where some saw this as a negative, Jay managed to turn the word "nerd" into a positive. Jay Scholar took advantage of his school's emphasis on creative writing and began composing poetry. Poetry soon turned into lyrics that gave way to making music. [read more...]
