
Jacques de Cysoing was a thirteenth-century French trouvère active in the cultural world of northern France during the later flowering of the trouvère tradition. He belongs to the generation of poet-composers who worked within an already well-established idiom of courtly song, cultivating refined lyric forms rather than seeking formal innovation.
