GOLAB is Joel Roberts.

Employing synthesizers, drum machines, GameBoy, layered vocals, and assorted acoustic instruments, GOLAB makes electronic pop music that sounds very human.

In late 2006, GOLAB began performing with guest Jeff Loose on drums. Those shows have been described as creepy and fantastic.

GOLAB's first release on Pretend Records, "Simplicity Banquet," came out in 2006. "Strangle Holds" was to be released in 2008.

Joel was a founding member of the band Stylex and is also a member of The Tropical Dudes. [read more...]
