The band name comes from the language created by Anthony Burgess Nadsat for his novel "A Clockwork Orange," where the word takes Devochka which means "girl", which attaches the word "lovers": Devotchka Lovers which means loving girl, referring to the dedication and passion of the lovers, which metaphorically refers to the love and passion he feels for the music: "We are lovers of music" ...
