
For decades, Friesland’s peatland meadows have been subsiding by one or two centimetres each year. This phenomenon is caused by the province of Friesland’s policy of deep drainage in the area. As part of FEAN, we join Jan Kleefstra and landscape architect Peter de Ruyter in analysing the consequences and possible solutions for this far-reaching social issue.
