Entombed is a Swedish death metal band formed in 1987, originally under the name Nihilist. The band is considered an early pioneer of Scandinavian death metal, noted for its distinctive "buzzsaw" guitar tone, which distinguished it from American death metal. By the early 1990s, their sound incorporated elements of garage rock and hard rock, a style later described as death 'n' roll.
