
Dronpe was born on August 16, 1982 in the grassland of Khyungchu, Ngawa, a part of Amdo region of Tibet. In 2004 Dronpe graduated the Chengdu College of Traditional Medicine and became a qualified doctor. She had never received any professional vocal training, yet her desire to "give people a little bit of happiness" made her to pursue a music career. In 2007 Dronpe debuted with an album "Ache Drokmo" that became an instant hit.
Dronpe was nominated for Best Female Singer at Tibetan Music Awards 2009. [read more...]
