David Velasquez and Cameron Martin, longtime friends, began writing together in late 2009. Although both fronted other bands, they decided to make their collaboration permanent after several weeks of successful writing sessions. Catching local musician's ears, the two were soon accompanied by a rotating backing band of up to six players.
