Gamelan Degung comes from Sunda West Java. It is softer, more melodic, and with deep gong rithmic beats. It is one of the more elegant gamelan forms.

In Gamelan Degung, the suling (flute) is always present. It's improvisational style sometimes follows the melody of the other instruments, but can also divert from it in complimentary ways.
