Biosintes (also known as Биосинтез) was a pioneering, avant-garde Tuvan music ensemble formed in 1990 in Kyzyl, the capital of the Tuva Republic in Russia. Famous for its experimental and shamanic approach, the band famously blended traditional Tuvan throat singing (Xöömej/Kargiraa) and instruments with modern jazz, rock, and theatrical improvisation.
