Artist Info: Altain Orgil

The Altain Orgil band was established in 1993, with the goal to promote their Mongolian nation around the world by bringing traditional culture, long song, Morin Khuur (horse-head fiddle), Khoomei (throat singing), folk song, contortionism, and traditional dance.

Since 2000, Altain Orgil has greatly expanded its repertoire through the inclusion of elements of world music, adding modern musical instruments such as the violoncello to harmonize with traditional Mongolian instruments. [read more...]
