What is Adiaphora?

The term adiaphora is the plural form of the Greek adiaphoron, which means "indifferent." The ancient Stoics used it to refer to things which they regarded as being morally neutral, neither good nor bad in nature.
Much later on, Protestant theologians also used the term to refer to things which were "scripturally" neutral, by which they meant neither forbidden nor required by the scriptures. [read more...]
