Slow Decay Is the latest release by The Acacia Strain, groove metalcore/deathcore act from Chicopee, Massachusetts. The album was released on July 24, 2020 via Rise Records.
The album was critically praised and loved by the fans. It reached up to position #87 in Billboards top 200 list. The quality and the diversity of the record is notable.
From vocals to production, everything was top notch in this record. Many songs has the atmospheric black metal influence, perfectly fused with typical metal core elements. Others are crunchy and intertwined with chaos & organized doom.
The album was released during a tough time when the whole world was more or less under lockdown phase, without any live shows going on. Online platform & digital downloads where mostly used with a small amount of physical records being sold.
The album starts with absolute banger track (Feed a pigeon breed a rat) followed by others. It gets comparatively lazier in the middle part. The later part of the record is comparatively more vivid & dast paced than the middle part. (Chinnamasta, one thousand painful stings).
The delivery of the vocal has an angry note that resonates something deep and dark. The delivery is notably heavy.
