VIRTUEL (former JEKYLL HYDE) is a progressive rock band from Bulgaria.
It was formed in early 90’s by Nick Markov (keyboards, guitar, songwriter) and Rosen Angelov (vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, songwriter).
Few years later the guitar virtuoso Konstantin Jambazov joined the band for a number of local and national gigs. He is also a songwriter and plays bass, keyboards and does the drum programming. The first studio album “Return To Revelation” was released in 1998.
Due to the fact that the three musicians live in 3 different countries (Nick Markov-USA, Rosen Angelov-UK and Konstantin Jambazov-Bulgaria) there was a 13 years gap between the previous and the current projects. Thanks to the new musical technologies and the internet their new album” I “ was recorded entirely by the net, mixed by Konstantin and came out in 2011.
Although there are a lot of influences (Kansas, Dream Theater, Yes ) in their music the musicians have found their own style and sound. Konstantin himself is a well known guitarist in Bulgaria, often involved in different project with variety of musicians of different styles and different countries. He had 9 studio albums as a solo artist mainly in progressive/power metal style and instrumental/guitar rock but he had released an album in world music/jazz style as well.
