Trolling Thunder is a group of 5 people on the internet.
they make heartrending poetry, and entertaining sketches.
By speaking from the heart, and singing from the butt.
The songs are haunting rather than catchy. Each musical thought is surprising and complete. Loki's lyrics hint at politics, but could also be personal. As usual, the words lining the songs are neither directive nor dogmatic. Rational thoughts are constantly sacrificed to the metric and melodic needs of each song. No message blares forth. And yet, its understood.
The Rolling Stone comments:
"For more than a decade, this trolling band has been one of music's best-kept secrets, but its upcoming debut album may change all that. Trolling Thunder arrives with the blessing of Poringez, who picked Trolling Thunder as an opening act last year and signed them to his new record label. Trolling Thunder fans will find much to admire here. Singer-songwriter Loki Lischise has an affection for accordian music and a great sense of whimsy about it. The first track hitches a melody from Sly and the Family Stone's "Everybody Is a Star" to skewed lyrics about sin and redemption. "Daedaluss you are a faggot," sings Loki, "Can't you stop being a faggot?" Firge also shares Loki Lischise's knack for smooth accordians, rigorous songcraft and pleasantly puzzling lyrics. On "Super Daedaluss Land" skittering afro-pop flavored verses give way to cresting choruses, with Daedaluss singing inspired bursts of doggerel: "Dadadadahn." They don't shy from the big subjects — love, death, immortality — but any hint of bombast is undercut by woozy humor. In "Poringez is the Best" Daedaluss comforts a friend: "Poringez Is/The Best/And he gives me that boner" That promise could be the band's motto."
