Artist Detailed Info: Slimm

“Once upon a time... ...when we were young, there was the World filled with the marvellous.” My name is Jacob Skógursson. Slimm. While I was growing up there was always two things that inspired me: music and architecture. The way I have to combine artistic and technical way to make my architectural projects is the same when it comes to compose, play and mix my music. To make forms and loops a perfect shape - you have to fly high and stay strong in the ground at the same time. That's for me the greatest challenge. That’s the way I like to work. And when it comes to inspiration... ... all that matters is that through the years of my musicianship I was lost. I was there playing in numerous of bands on guitar, bass, drums, synths... standing hand to hand with those people, my friends. I realized that, despite it was strong developing my skills and possibilities, it is not what was deep in my soul. Something that I must bring back to life, my whole life with imaginations, my whole living on this planet. I remember everything that made this place special. Every little piece of mud, every living bug, ant and bee had for me the story to tell. I was there, hours and hours sitting , watching and creating a special space for my little brothers. In my mind they had everything what people have, including consciousness, but their life was much more happy, mine too.That's the point! Those hundreds of unique worlds, each one specially created, were bringing back to life by music in my adult life! Parts of songs of artists such as Cinematic Orchestra or Jaga Jazzist, Bonobo, all those complicated, layered music that was it! So I decided to play with my brain, to recall exact pictures by putting together exact sounds, making melodies. From the beginning to the end of every song it is for me a full story. Every little piece of sound bring pictures to my mind. Music needs to tell a story. Your own fairy tale - the journey through thoughts and imaginations perceived almost as real. Music have to reveal childhood dreams, deep fears and shiny moments, the whole alternative World closed up deep in your mind. This is the real freedom - your imaginations deep inside you. I locked myself for about two years in studio, a great place where only sound matters. I've created my first solo album called "Bobo". To help me get into, separate from real World for a while. Are you a dreamer? Stop for the moment, relax and listen. This is not only collection of songs - this is collection of tales. The whole album is connected with special art - videos and pictures, which can help to read my music. It could be done by cooperation with amazing and talented people like Lukasz Dygutowicz, or Jan Gwozdz, who makes great photos and time-lapse videos. Their work is a huge support.
