It all started from a Guitar Hero match. After a short time, Paulo "Limão" Simões (guitar), João Pedro "Yoshi" Kerr Catunda (guitar) and Rogério Rocha (vocals) decided to face a more challenging endeavor.
On march 6th, 2007, due to the lack of quorum for their weekly poker night, the three got together and decided to jam. From the result was born the band which would later be called RedFive, receiving a few weeks later the participation of Pedro Ivo "Pivo" Braun Ferreira on the bass guitar.
Still nameless, they performed their first official gig at Roger's birthday party, on April 15th. Quickly they realized that they would need a drummer to keep up their rhythm. So comes in Fernando Bertolla and finally the band receives a name.
RedFive is a reference to Star Wars. It is the codename of Luke Skywalker during the attack on the Death Star.
The repertoire, mainly consisting of covers from American and English bands from the '90s, grew quickly, and on November of that same year the band receives their sixth member, Daniel Guariento, playing the keyboard and harmonizing on the backing vocals.
Currently the band performs monthly at the Dinossauros Rock Bar on its birthplace São Paulo, and they completed their first anniversary with a gig on march 20th, 2008.
The band's official website is www.redfive.us.
