There is only one thing to be said about Reckless Intent: Meant to be. After the breakup of nationally touring and regionally successful band Neverset, Ryan Ray (vocals/guitar) had several offers from other bands. Says Ryan, “I knew that rather than joining something already in progress, it was time to start something new, with new guys who could really believe in what it would be. I wanted to start a band for the right reasons, and run the band with the right intentions: to make amazing music people could really get into, while being viable to the market, and treat my band and fans with respect.” Ryan wanted to hand pick the musicians he wanted, and immediately sought out Jackson Dunn, fellow guitarist who both had mutual respect for each other. “I talked to Jackson a few months before anything happened about starting something new, something badass, and he was definitely interested. At the time he had other obligations, so I just started writing songs and lyrics, and it just came pouring out really.” Shortly after, Jordan Hatfield approached Ryan and said if he needed a drummer, he was the guy. Bassist Aaron Decker had a similar approach with an aggressive email. “After the first time the four of us jammed together, I already knew they were the guys,” says Ryan. “We’ve put this thing together in a short time, and are ready to get out and give the fans all we have.” Reckless Intent’s music is strong and meaningful, running the hard rock spectrum with aggressive rock songs like “Wrong Again,” and not afraid to show real feelings, and a softer side with “Beautiful Intentions.” With the right attitude towards fans, this band means to bring it live and be accessible to fans and the radio market alike. These four mean business, and once you listen, or catch them live, you’ll know that this is for real, and you’re in for an experience and a great time. Reckless Intent is no doubt here to make a splash, and here to stay.
