Koala Trace story goes back till the end of 1993 when the G brothers thought to make a project and write a couple of songs for fun. They wanted to make fast and short songs what was different form their bands music. G Laca came up with this name and it sounded fun. They asked their father to draw a trace of a Koala Bear but it looked like that of a cat’s print. However they used it. At that time G Laca were singing in F.O.R. and KisG was just started SideStep. KisG already had one song and that was „Bobafat” the only song run by a name and a short lyrics written by G Laca. So they went into the practice-place of F.O.R. at Kispest and learned those songs. G Laca played the guitar and KisG were playing the drum. There were no bass and vocals, not even lyrics. Just two of them! During that practice the other members of SideStep were there and recorded those songs with a tape recorder. Koala Trace played a cover from AMD called „Mániákus Tömeg Gyilkos” and „Understand” from Youth Of Today. After a while the song „Bobafat” became extremely popular amongst the kids of Havanna-Kispest Crew and F.O.R. covered it and played at their shows. During the shows KisG sung half of the song and G Laca another half. Everyone went mad in mosh and diving. Many of them knew this was a Koala Trace song. However they never intended to be a band or something else therefore Koala Trace was a fun for them. May be they practiced twice, only. Now it’s 2006. exacetaly 13 years after they made those songs. KisG wanted to archive everything they made back in those days and asked his brother to play it and he agreed. Actualy KisG was totaly forget about that record they made so G Laca told him that he still have it, so let them play. They practiced only 30 minutes max. and after they went into BANDANAS STUDIO and recorded those 5 songs. KisG wrote all the lyrics except half of „Bobafet”. So here it is under HONEST FOR TRUTH RECORDS as HFTR 005.
