Esuna

Esuna are a band from Cardiff, Wales who play a combination of eclectic, energetic math rock, massive post-rock/shoegaze textures and nostalgic, uplifting indie pop sensibilities. Drawing influence from bands such as And So I Watch You From Afar, The Appleseed Cast and American Football.

The band formed in 2013 with the original lineup of Howard Dyer (vocals/guitar), Josh Taylor (bass), Kieran Rees (guitar) and Joseff Neale (drums). They released their first EP, May You Be Well, in the summer of 2014. During the writing of their next record, the band replaced Howard on vocals with Josh and brought in Alex Fawcett (Oceanus) on guitar. In 2016, the group went on to release their second EP, Epilogue to Departure, which was well-received. The EP displayed a significant progression from earlier material to a heavier and more fleshed-out sound, hinging on atmosphere and crescendo.

In the autumn of 2017 the band released a single entitled 'Danger First', further developing their visceral, riff-heavy sound.

After a few years of silence, the band returned in late 2021 when they released another new single entitled 'Don't Open That Envelope'.
