DEADWEIGHT EXPRESS ~ Brisbane

Deadweight express are a Brisbane based 2 piece hillbilly/stoner blues rock band consisting of drums, guitar(sometimes cigar box guitar) and vocals. Even though there is only 2 of them they pride themselves on delivering as much power as a 3 or 4 piece.

What started as an idea in late 2011 to be a mellow cigar box blues duo soon changed when vocalist/guitarist sonny ingledew inlisted the percussion talents of calvin Edward (a high energy hard hitting fireball). Their sound soon changed and morphed into a mash up of old delta blues, classic riff rock and grunge(which all 3 can be heard in just one of their songs) all delivered with a no bullshit attitude. With songs about skanky ex girlfriends, drinking, sceneheads and taking no shit. These guys are act not to be missed! So if warm fuzzy guitar tones, a cigar box guitar that sounds like a chainsaw, powerfull vocals and hard hitting drums are your thing then get off your arse and get to a DEADWEIGHT EXPRESS show! you won't be disappointed.
