ARTIST BIO
St. Pariah is a progressive emcee, poet, singer, pianist and songwriter from Western Massachusetts. He grew up a ward of the state and most of his childhood years were spent living on the streets or in foster homes. The effects of this stormy upbringing can be heard in his deeply personal and political songs.
St. Pariah began his musical career at the age of 14, singing and teaching himself to play piano, and he recorded his first demo by the age of 16. The next eight years of his life were spent developing his artistic skills as a poet and as the singer/songwriter/keyboard player of four different bands.
His introduction to Hip Hop came in the year 2001, when he began lending his skills as a keyboard player to the musical compositions of local rappers. During this time, he began developing his freestyle skills by "battling" the rappers he worked with.
By the year 2002, St. Pariah was already performing for a fan base of approximately 50 people at local clubs. The next six years were spent building a strong promotional network, performing and recording regularly, composing, and refining his skills as a progressive emcee.
In 2009, St. Pariah's song, "How America Pays", was chosen to be featured in a Valenti film, and he walked the Red Carpet in NYC.
From the years 2010-2011, St. Pariah has been regularly performing and headlining paid venues and lending his skills to local benefit shows for tornado relief, to raise awareness of the negative effects of bullying, and in support of the American Red Cross.
On September 23rd-24th, St. Pariah attended the SCMC Music Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. The panel of A&Rs consisted of Aaron Salley of DPT/DEFJAM Records; Brian Johnston of Atlantic Records; and Kash Johns of 15 Second Music Group. St. Pariah's "6Stichz" EP was given praise, as was his performance in front of the panel the following day.
St. Pariah's style is a progressive blend of Industrial Techno, Hip Hop, Alternative Rock, Neo-Reggae, R&B, and much more.
