Artist Detailed Info: Cogel

Sydney band Cogel (pron: “core-gal”) began by chance. Initially forming in mid 2010 as a trio comprising a Belgian ex-pat and a pair of brothers, the group only found its true sound after welcoming two new members at the end of last year.

Cogel released their debut self-titled EP in February 2011. It features the track ‘Aquarium’, which received multiple spins on JJJ via Vijay Khurana’s Lunch. The video for ‘Aquarium’ was recently Rage’s indie clip of the week.

One of the highlights of the band’s short existence was a VIC tour with Tash Parker and Wally De Backer (aka Gotye), the latter of whom lent his voice to the Cogel track ‘Rocks On The Sun’.
